昨日の続きです。

飲み会の話題として

「私(江端)を怖いと思っている人はいるのだろうか」

との質問を投げてみました。

『江端さんのことを、怖いと思っている人はいるでしょう』

『メールに「殺す」という文言をフツーに入れる人は、フツーに怖いハズです』

そんな「フツー」に入れているかなー、と思って、昨日、過去メールから、私が「殺す」という文言を使ったメールを調べてみました。

40通あった。

自分で驚いた。

○引例を引っ張ってくるなら、自分の発明を「本気で殺す」つもりで、死ぬ気で、公知例調査をしろ。発明者は全精力を尽して、自分の発明を「殺す」論理づけを試みよ。

○切替時に回復不能な障害発生させたら、殺すぞ

○特許法39条によって、自分の発明（先願）が自分の発明（後願）を殺すことになります。

○私なんかは、出願前は『近づく奴は、皆、殺す』くらいの殺気を出して執筆しますので。

○具体的に「敵」と認定する社名は *具体的* でなければならない。M下でもM菱でもGuグルでもなんでも良いが、「敵」を殺すくらいの勢いでを明確にすること。

○パリ条約の効果は大きく2つあり、「自分(の発明)は殺されない」(パリ条約4B前段)と「相手(の発明)を殺す」(後段)になります。

確かに「怖い」。

この時期は憂鬱です。

桜なんて咲き始めているのを見ていると、気分はどんよりと沈んでいきま す。

なぜ、一年中、冬ではないのだろうか、と。

シベリヤ、アラスカ、南極大陸のような極寒の地で、行動が制限されるよ うなところの「冬」ではなく、

日本であっても、豪雪による雪害になる北日本のような「冬」でもなく、

そのような「迷惑をかけられない冬」、具体的には、東日本から西日本の 太平洋沿岸の地域の「冬」が良いのです。

2年前に、達成目標を約束した(豪語した)書類が戻ってきます。

そして、今、その約束の成否を明確にして書き込む必要があります。

「2年前の私は、今の私とは違う。今の私ならそんな約束はしなかった」と、どんなに泣きごとを言っても無駄です。

私の「被告抗弁」の文案創作能力は、この時期、最高レベルに達します。

実際のところ、私の娘たちは、「英語を使う自分」のイメージを持っていません。

In fact, my daughters has no image of "themselves of using English".

彼女らにとって、英語は、履修すべき教科の一つで、テストで解くべき問題に過ぎないのです。

For them, English is one of the subjects they should study, and problems they should solve in examinations.

この無力感を理解するには、私たちが、一生の間、使うことのない言語(例えば、タミール語など)を履修させられている状況を想像すれば十分でしょう。

In order to understand the situation of this apathy, it become enough to make an image that we are enforced to study a disused language (for example, Tamil).

そして、(私の試算では)本当に英語が必要な人間は、日本の就労人口の4%程度しかいません。

According to my trial calculations, only 4% of worker population in Japan, really needs English.

と、このように事実を積み重ねていくと、結局、私の出した結論(英語に愛されないことは私たちの責任ではない)に戻ってしまいます。

Accumulating these facts, I return the result that I made a conclusion before, that "It is not our responsibility not to be loved by English".

我が国の国民の多くが、「国際化が必要でも、移民政策は反対」という感情を持っています。日本人にとって、国際化とは、外国の話であり、あくまでホームランドの外の話です。

Many people in Japan have an idea that we should adapt to the internationalization but we don't accept an immigrant community. In short, Japanese people think that the internationalization is just on foreign countries, not our homeland.

そんな都合のよい国際化で、国際化の道具の一つである英語を使えるようになる訳がない。

We never use English as a tool of the internationalization under the convenient fiction story.

これは、10年間もスキーの教本を勉強して、1回もスキーゲレンデに出ないで、スキーヤーになろうとしているのと同じです(または、ゲレンデでお茶して帰るだけのレジャー)

I think that the above is the same situation that we study skiing by using training books only, not going ski field once, and want to be a splendid skier. (or a just leisure to go a ski field and a restaurant at the bottom.

私が小学生の時から「これからは英語が必要だ」と言われ続けきて、そして、本当に必要となっている人は4%程度です。

When I was a junior student, I have heard a phrase of "English is needed from now" since then. Now persons who really use English is only 4%.

これでは、英語の勉強へのモチベーションが発生しないのは当然です。

It is natural that the motivation for the studying English doesn't happen.

だからといって、「英語が必要がない」と極めつけるのは、どこかの思慮の足りない作家夫婦と同じことをやることになります(そういえば、何故、彼らは『英語は使われていない(4%)のだから、英語の教育は不要だ』と言わないのかな？)

It's not that we should stop studying English. It might become same of the silly writer wife and husband who insist on "quadratic function is not needed".(As I recall, why do they say "English is not needed, because the users are only 4% in Japan"?)

In addition, I presented an excuse for all of the classmate, that was "they helped decoration of the attraction", as a perfect follow-through service.

私は、自分の裁量だけで動けて、幸せ。

I was happy because I could work on my own.

皆は、何もしなくてすんで、幸せ。

The others were also happy, because they didn't do anything.

これをWin-Winといいます。

This is really "Win-Win relationship".

ふと、思い出したのですが、私が小中学生だった頃、「フォークダンス」なるものをやらされていました。

All of sudden, I remember that I was compelled to do "folk dance" in junior and junior-high school.

多分、今でも、あるのだろうと思います。

I am afraid that the enforced event might continue.

私見ではありますが、あの「フォークダンス」なるものを、「楽しかった」と思える人は、それほど多くないのではないかと思っています。

In my opinion, many people seemed not to enjoy doing the "fork dance".

少くとも、私は楽しいどころか、激烈な苦痛でした。

As far as I was concerned, it was rather terrible pain to cheerful feeling.

他人と行動の調歩を合わせることが苦手だったこと加えて、私がフォークダンスを全身全霊で嫌いになったのが、確か「ジェンカ(*)」というフォークダンスの歌の歌詞です。

I had trouble in running with the teams, and moreover the reason I came to feel an aversion against "fork dance" was lyrics to a song whose name was "jenkka", as I recalled.

この歌の歌詞を書き下そうとしたのですが、今、ちょっと試みただけで吐き気を催してきました(本当)。

This time, I tried to write the lyrics down, however, I felt dizzy even starting to write the first phrase.

しかたがないので、一言で纏めます。

小中学生の生真面目な潔癖感を考慮しても、聞くに耐えない「無知性な」歌詞だったと思います。

Considering neat paranoiac of junior and junior-high school students, I do say that it is unspeakable an unintelligible song.

歌詞の内容が「不気味」だし、非日常だと想定しても、歌詞の内容が「頭悪すぎる」し、

The contents of lyrics is "eery", and even if the background of song might be uncommon, it is too stupid.

そもそも、これって「セクハラを助長するような歌」という認定だってできるんじゃないでしょうか。

To begin with, I think that it is possible to approve "this song might cultivate sexual harassment".

今もなお、このような歌詞の歌を聞いて苦痛に耐えながら、ダンスを踊らされている小中学生がいるかと思うと、胸が痛みます。

When I think children who feel pain with hearing this song and letting them dance, I feel a tightening in my chest.

―― と、ここまで、あの歌に憎悪の念を持っているのは、私だけだろうか？

今日、やっと、「動かないシステム」の原因を見つけることができました。

Today, I finally found the cause of the "inactive system".

PCにプレインストールされていた、セキュリティ対策ソフト(Macfee)でした。

It was security software (Macfee) that was pre-installed on the PC.

このソフトを、復旧不能レベルへのアンインストールを行ったら、システムを止めていた問題点(3つ)が一気に解決しました。

Uninstalling this software to an unrecoverable level, resolved this three problems at once, and the system started.

私が、なんどWindowsOSの設定を変えても、動かなかったのは、このソフトが全部、妨害をしていた、という訳です。

The reason the system did not work even if I changed the setting of Windows OS, that this software was blocking the system.

それにしても、pingやhttpのパケットを妨害するのは許せるとしても、パソコンの中の、processまで妨害するとは、何たる悪質なソフトウェア ――

Even so, although it is acceptable to block ping and http packets, how this malicious software interferes with the process on the personal computer.

ほんの一瞬ではありますが、この会社への「放火」を考えました。

Though it was only a moment, I thought of "an arson" to this company.

もっとも、セキュリティ対策ソフトは、「悪意」でソフトウェア作る者からPCを防衛することを目的として作られているものです。

However, security software is designed to protect PCs from "malicious" software developers.

PCは、「利用者」が大半で、「開発者」はその0.2%(30万人/1億3000万人)にも至りません。

The majority of PCs are "users", and on the other hand, "developers" do not reach 0.2% (300,000 / 130 million) of them.

ですから、このソフトの振舞は「間違ってはいない」のです ―― むしろ「よく頑張っている」とも言えます。

So, the behavior of this software is "not wrong", rather it can be said that "work well".

もっとも、ここまで何もかも潰せば、そりゃ安全でしょう。

However, if the software crush everything, it would be safe.

「私が、"ビッグデータ"とか"AI"とかいう言葉を、心の底から嫌っている」ことは、すでにうんざりするほど語ってきました ―― 2年間もです。

我が家の長女が、今頃になって「エヴァンゲリオン」にロックオンされました。

Our senior daughter is now locked onto "Evangelion".

彼女は、現在、上映中の映画から始まったようです。

She seems to have started with a movie that is currently being shown.

『最終回からアニメにはまる父親の血脈』という訳でもないのでしょうが ―― こういう入り方も良いものです。

It may not be "Her father's bloodline that got me into anime after the last episode", but it's good to get into it this way.

これまでも述べてきたように、私は、「エヴァンゲリオン」にハマることのできなかった一人です。

The song "VOYAGER - Tombstone without a Date" was created in the movie and is used in Shin Evangelion the Movie.

ところで、大声では言えませんが ――

電気自動車(EV)や、自然エネルギーや、大型蓄電システムをてっとり早く普及させる方法の一つに、「停電を頻発させる」があります。

One of the quickest ways to promote electric vehicles (EVs), renewables, and large-scale energy storage systems is to have frequent power outages.

例えるなら、EVは、移動する蓄電池ですので、一戸建てであれば、数時間程度の電気は担保できる可能性があります。

By analogy, an EV is a moving storage battery, so a single-family home may be able to guarantee electricity for a few hours.

実際は、直流→交流変換をする装置が必要となり、その装置は高額で設置工事も必要となるので、そんなに簡単な話ではありません。

ただ、停電が日常的であった国(かつてのインド等)では、各家庭にバッテリーが備わっていて、停電時に活用されていました。

ちなみに、私が20歳くらいの頃、「太陽光発電」の研究をしていた人々の多くは、現実性のない研究で、研究費の無駄使いをする『バカ』って言われていましたよ。

いまさら、という感じとは思いますが、私、今回PoE(Power of Ethernet)を使う機会を得ました。

I know it's a little late for this, but I had the opportunity to use PoE (Power of Ethernet) this time.

PoEはLANケーブルを経由して、データ通信と同時に電力(1ポートあたり15.4W)を供給することができるものです。

PoE can supply power (15.4W per port) simultaneously with data communication via LAN cable.

今回は、PoE対応のカメラで、それを「体感」することができました。

This time, I could "feel" it with a PoE-enabled camera.

感想ですが、

まず、コンセントの場所を気にせずカメラを設置できるとう点はもちろんなのですが、通信ケーブルと電源ケーブルの2本を引き廻す必要がない、という点が素晴しいです。

First of all, of course, I don't have to care about the location of the power outlet, but it is also great that there is no need to run two cables, one for communication and the other for power.

ご存知の通り、私、自宅に、監視カメラを設置しているのですが、この配線(特に電源ケーブル)で、とても苦労しました。

As you know, I have a surveillance camera installed in my house, and I had a lot of trouble with the wiring (especially the power cable).

地中に電源ケーブルを埋めたり、壁に敷設したりするのって、思った以上に面倒です(シールドしないと、経年劣化で、漏電やショートの可能性もありますから)。

Burying power cables underground or laying them in walls is more trouble than it seems (for leaks or short circuits).

よく考えれば、こんなことは、当たり前のことなのですが、この当たり前が「やってみるまで分からない」という点が、新技術(？)の弱みでもあります。

If you think about it, this is a matter of course, but the fact that this matter of course is not known until we try is a weakness of the new technology.

このような「新技術」(ちなみに、PoEは10年以上の前にはありましたが)の別の障壁は、PoE対応のEthernetハブの値段が高かったことがあります。

Another barrier to such "new technology" (PoE was more than a decade old) was the high price of PoE-capable Ethernet hubs.

10万円くらいはしていたと思う。

I think it was about 100,000 yen.

でも、先日調べたら、5ポートで5000円くらいになっていました。

I only needed one port for one camera, so I got it from Amazon.com for about 1500 yen.

「それでも、PoE対応のEthernetケーブルが必要なんだろうな」とは思っていたのですが、その辺にころがっていた、カテゴリ6のケーブルで試してみたところ、普通に動き出してビックリしました。

I thought, "I still need an Ethernet cable that supports PoE," but when I tried it with a Category 6 cable I found lying around, I was surprised it worked just fine.
