When I sorted the ads for recruiting for "English conversation lesson" for circulation boards of the neighborhood association,

嫁さんが「パパ! 『英会話教室』なんて始めるつもりなの？」と血相を変えて聞いてきました。

My wife asked me "Do you want to start an English conversation lesson ?" in a black rage.

―― ここ数年で、最大級の誤解だなぁ

"It might be highest possible misunderstanding in several years"

と、思わず、苦笑してしまいました。

I almost burst into laughing.

ある日曜日に、私が、町内会の会館の窓口業務をやっていた時、

One day on Sunday, when I worked at hall counter,

近くの町内の日本在住の外人の方が、「英会話教室」目的で、町内会の会館を予約をする為に、窓口に来られました。

a foreigner at the next town came to the counter to try to reserve a room for the event of "English conversation lesson".

それをきっかけとして、私が、町内会長への問い合わせや、ビラの配布方法などを、電子メールでアシストさせてもらっています。

As just a trigger, I started to help her for inquiries to the head of the neighborhood association and ads distributions by the circulation boards, by e-mail.

I am a writer of the works whose title is "New strategies for engineers who are not loved by English". So even if I try to start "English conversation lesson" by myself,

これはもう、「冗談」ではなく「事件」です。

this is not a "joke" but a "serious affair"
