私は、CASIOのWave Conceptというデジタルの腕時計を愛用しています。

便利なのです。

液晶がデカイので最近の視力の劣化にも対応するし、電波時計で自動的に時刻合わせしてくれます。

特に、海外出張の時に、現地時間を表示しつつ、日本時間も表示してくれる、というのが、泣けるほど嬉しい。

例えば、サマータイムを見逃して空港で青ざめたことがあります。

また、時差を含めたフライト時間を、即座に計算できない私の頭は、飛行機の中での予習(プレゼン等の練習)時間をちょくちょく見誤ります。

ま、なんだかんだいって、一番嬉しいのが「安い」という点です。

昨日、ベルトのバンドが切れた為、修理の問い合わせと費用を聞いた後、Amazonで調べたら700円違いでした。

迷わず、新しいのを購入しましたよ。

古い時計は、鞄に括り付けるなどして、活用しようかと考えています。

で、今回、面白かったのが、Amazonサイトのメッセージ。

「お前、このサイトで同じ型番の同じ時計、今回で3つ目の注文だけど、本当に大丈夫？」

1つ目は父に進呈し、2つ目は今バンドが切れましたので、確かに3つ目です。

全く同じ時計を、1年に1個の割合で購入する客を、Amazonのサーバが「気持ち悪い」と思うのは、ある意味当然かもしれません。

確かにその気持分からなくもない。

でもね、新しい時計に新調して、最初からマニュアル読んで設定するなんて面倒は、ゴメンなんですよ。

私にとって、腕時計は、時刻が正確で、世界中のどこでも使えて、乱暴に扱えて、私にどこまでもついてきてくれるものが、最高の「パートナー」です。

娘に与えられたテーゼは(私が理解したところ)、

■今後、日本の人口は減少傾向にある。今後は電気需要は減少する方向にある。これに対して、石油やウラン燃料は輸入を削減すれば足りるが、水力発電は一度作ってしまえば施設を死蔵させるしかない。

Now the pollution of Japan is going to decrease, so the consumption of power also decreases. About this problem, we will only cut of the resource of oil and Uranium. On the other hand, Hydropower is going to b dead storages.

■CO2の環境被害については、未だその関係が明確となっていない。現状、地球温暖化は、石油がその原因であると断定できる段階ではない。またCO2でいえば、原子力発電では発生するCO2はない。

According to the CO2 environment problem, in the present, it is not clear the reason. Nobody knows whether burning oil is problem or not. Added, unclear generation has no problem about CO2.

■日本においては、交流周波数が異なるという問題があり、電力融通問題が上手く機能しなかったことは、前回の震災で明かになり、今後現状が改善される余地はない。

In Japan, it was clear not to resolve the power transition procedure because of power frequencies difference. We have no plan to resolve this problem at all now.

私、通勤の途中で、4車線の比較的幅の広い車道を横切ることがあります。

うーん、「報復としての自死」は、どうやら上手くないようです。

そもそも、「報復としての自死」を実施できるマインドのある人は、自死をしないだろう、という矛盾もあります。

"Effort does not exceed genius".

を、青春群像の中で雄弁に語ってきます。

そして、「天才」は、その無邪気な無自覚によって、懸命に努力している人を、ズタズタに傷つけるという、救いようもない事実を突き付けてきます。

These books will strike a fact that nobody can save that "Genius" with their innocent unawareness will hurt people who are struggle against their commonplace.

Before writing the story, since I felt like I had already written similar things before, I tried searching with the keyword "madness" with my own HP search engine (I do not remember what I wrote myself anymore)

「天才」に勝つことができるのは「狂気」だけ

今回、氷菓シリーズの続編ストーリ「いまさら翼といわれても」を図書館で借りて読みました。

This time, I borrowed the sequel story of "Hyouka" series, "Even if you say "I will give you wings"(*)" at the library and I read it.

(*)と、読了後に訳してみました。

もの凄い勢いで、一気に読み切ってしまいました。

I read it all at once with amazing momentum,

面白かった ―― というか「呆けてしまった」

I only say "it is fun". Or rather "I got shocked"

「『自分のやりたいことの為に、組織を変える』などということに無駄な時間を使うな。自分のやりたいことがあるなら、先ず『組織を切れ』」

"Do not waste your time to improve your organization for what you want to do. If you have something you want to do, first throw out the organization"

というストーリーは、私のような社会人ですら、真実すぎて、頭をぶん殴られるようでした。

This short story is too turthful and beat up my head, even for a social person like me.

「『与えられた自由』が、『"無限の可能性"というご褒美』どころか、『"無数の選択肢を当人に押しつける"恐しい暴力』である」というストーリーも、また同様でした。

"Given freedom" is far from "reward" of infinite possibilities. On the contrary, "it is a "scary violence" to impose numerous choices on them". This story was the same again.

「制約のある人生」が、「完全に自由な人生」よりも、人間を幸せにすることがある ――

"Constrained life" may make people happier than "completely free life" -

というか、「することがある」ではなく、間違いなく「する」であることを、私は知っています。

以前、長女から聞いたのですが、最近は「年賀状ハラスメント」という考え方があるそうです。

My senior daughter once told me that there is a concept called "Nengajo Harassment" these days.

多様な生き方(DINK、独身、パートナーシップ)がある中で、自分の属するもの(自分の伴侶や家族など)を表明すること事態が、ハラスメントになる、というものらしいです。

While there are diverse ways of living (DINK, single, partnership), it seems that expressing what they belong to (their mate, family, etc.) is harassment.

「確かにそうだな」とも思いますし、「そこまで気にする必要があるかな」とも思います。

しかし、「年賀状ハラスメント」と認めると、私なんぞ「ブログハラスメント」の実施者ですし、「コラムハラスメント」の当事者です。

自分以外の人間を表現しようとしたら、それらは、全て「ハラスメント」になってしまいます。

「ブログ」や「コラム」は、読みたくない人は読まずにすむPull型情報媒体ですが、「年賀状」は、Push型の情報媒体です。

While "blogs" and "columns" are pull-type information media that those who do not want to read can avoid reading, "New Year's cards" are push-type information media.

そう考えると、「年賀状」はハラスメントの対象に含めても良いような気もします。

When I think about it, I feel that "New Year's cards" can be included in the list of harassment.

一方で、「年賀状」は、こちらからの発送を止めれば、あちらからの発送も止まる、という性質があります。

On the other hand, "New Year's cards" have the property that if we stop sending them, they will also stop sending them.

それ故、「年賀状ハラスメント」という考え方は、行き過ぎかもしれません。

Hence, "New Year's card harassment" may be overthinking it.

残る面倒くさい問題は、親戚とか、上司とか、恩師とか、コネクションを無視しにくい相手に対する年賀状の取り扱いだけですね。

The only remaining troublesome issue is how to handle New Year's greeting cards for relatives, bosses, mentors, and other people whose connections are hard to ignore.

なるほど。経済力のある人間は、その時代に即した価値のあるモノを収集する力があるから、その時代に応じた美人を選ぶことができる、ということです。

I see. People with economic power have the ability to collect things of value that are relevant to the times, so they are able to choose beautiful women according to the times.

一方、美人側は、「選ばれる能力」があるので、経済力 + α の価値のある伴侶を、逆指名することができます。

The beautiful woman, on the other hand, has the ability to be chosen, so she can nominate a man with economic power and plus alpha value.

そして、そのαに「イケメン」という要素が入ることは、十分可能です。

And it is quite possible for the beautiful women to have a "handsome" element in their plus alpha.
