10年ぶりくらいに、週末研究員として、Linuxのカーネルモジュールを作っています。

I am making a Linux kernel modules as a weekend researcher, after more than ten years.

同じく10年ぶりに、Linuxの環境を作っているのですが —— もう、慣れないことこの上もないです。

At the same time, I am making a linux environment for a software development. But unfortunately, it make me annoy deeply.

それにしても、オンラインインストールがデフォルトになっているとか、スーパーユーザの概念がガラっと変わっていることには、驚きました。

At any rate, I am very surprised at dynamic changes of the environment, for example, online installs are default manners, and changing the concept of "super users".

Linuxのディストリビューションにも流行がありまして、こういう場合は、自分の周りのユーザ数で決定します。

There are some popular linux distributions in many kinds. In this case, I will decide it by numbers of user who use linux OS.

複数の技法や手段から1つを選ぶ時には、「長いものには巻かれろ」が鉄板です。

"Don't kick against the pricks." is the best way to to select one of several possible technologies or methods.

結局のところ、私はなんとなく「世界」を選んで、なんとなく、そこに安住しているだけなのだなぁ、と実感します。

I think that I select a world and have lived in it, somehow or other,after all.

例えば、私はemacsというエディタに巡りあって、viを履修する必要がなくなった訳であり、あるいは、私は、日本人として生まれた訳ではなく、たまたま日本に生まれただけのことだ、ということです。

For example, I l could meet "emacs" editor by chance, and I didn't have to learn "vi" editor. I was born in Japan by chance, but I didn't choose this Japan.

I think that

もし私が、viの愛用者であれば、emacsを賞賛して、viを罵倒する(というアホな発言を)することは絶対にないだろうし、

If I were a vi-lover, I would have no chance to admire "emacs " and abuse "vi" foolishly,

隣の国に生まれついていたなら、「日本人としての誇り」などという(意味不明な)フレーズを使い、隣国の文化風習に基づくアクションを、目くじら立てて罵倒することもないのだろうなぁ

If I were born in a neighboring country, I would have no chance to use the phrase (of uncertain meaning) "a pride of Japanese" and abuse the the neighboring country's behavior based on their original cultures and habits.

と思うのです。

そもそも、私達の立ち位置自体が、結構あやふやなもので構成されているのに、

Above all, our life platform is based on an ambiguous object, however,

そのいい加減なものの為に、

for the sake of the ambiguous object,

血相かえて、

changing facial expression or color

自分の正当性を主張し、

claiming their own justice,

相手を貶めることができることは、

abusing others actions or behaviors

might be

「一種の能力とか才能とか」

kinds of talent or ability.

そういうものなのかもしれないなぁ、と思うのですよ、最近特に。

I come to think that that's the reason, very recently.
