長女が、学校の卒業生(OG)の講演を聞いた時に、こんな話を聞いたそうです。

I heard that my senior daughter(SD) had listened in the lecture of an alumna at her college, and the alumna had told

『自分の叶えたい夢から逆算して、今やるべきことを決める』

"I decide what I should do now with calculating back from my future dream"

その話を聞いて、私は、ただ一言「ふーん」とだけ応えました。

Hearing the story, I said just "hm".

長女：「パパ、この話を聞いてどう思う」

SD: "What do you think about this story?"

江端：「正直に言えば『ケッ!』って思っている。あるいは『無知』とか『馬鹿』とか『嘘つき』とか」

Ebata:"To tell you the truth, I think it is "laughable". Or "rudeness", "foolish" or "tale-teller""

長女：「何で、そう思う訳？」

SD:"Whey do you think so"

江端：「第一に、そんな話、ありえないからだよ。明日の予測すらできない人生において、『叶えたい夢の実現時期から、逆算？ 馬鹿言ってんじゃねーよ』―― って、思っている」

Ebata:"To begin with, the story is nonsense. Who can know the future? Moreover "calculating back from my future dream"? It is kidding."

長女：「そうなの？」

SD:"So?"

江端：「その人、不確定性原理とか行動心理学とか、そもそも、大数法則、統計、確率も全然分かっていないんじゃないかな。もし知らずに言っていれば『無知』だし、知っていて言っているなら『馬鹿』だ」

Ebata:"I doubt if she knows "indeterminacy principle", or "behavioral psychology". Maybe she doesn't know "low of large numbers", "statistics" and "probability" at all. If she doesn't knows them, she is "unintelligence". If she knows them, she is "fool".

長女：「・・・」

SD:"...."

江端：「基本的に、このような『夢を叶えた』と言っている人のやっていることは、ほぼ100%『自分の歴史改竄(かいざん)』だ ―― と思っている」

Ebata:"Basically, What the person who urged "I accomplished my dream" is just their garbled personal history, I think"

長女：「歴史改竄？」

SD:"Garbled personal history ?"

江端：「そもそも、その人にとって、本当に『それ』が『叶えたい夢』だったかどかが疑わしい。もし、そう主張するならその証拠を出せば済む話だけど、そんな人、今まで、一人も見たことがない」

Ebata:"First of all, I doubt if "it" was a really "the dream they had accomplished". If it was true, they can open the evidences. It must be very easy. However I have never seen such the evidences before"

長女：「・・・」

SD:"...."

江端：「だから、たまたま他の人には達成が困難な今の自分の状態を『昔から叶えたかった夢』と称呼しているだけ ―― と思っている」

Ebata:"So, about the present state of theirs, that is difficult for others to accomplish, they called it "my future dream", I think"

長女：「そうかな？」

SD:"So?"

江端：「でもって、そこに至った過去の自分の状態も纏めて、都合のよい歴史として上書きしているだけ ―― と思っている」

Ebata:"In addition, they overwrote all their archives in their mind, as their conventional history, I think"
