先日、「ヒトラーの贋札（にせさつ）」という映画のDVDを借りて見ていました。

The other day, I watched the movie "The Counterfeiters" of a rental DVD library.

これは、ナチスドイツが、英国の経済に混乱を起こすために、英国で流通していたポンド紙幣の10%もの量の偽札を製造した作戦(ベルンハルト作戦)の実話に基づく映画です。

This movie shows the operation (Bernhard operation) whose propose was to produce enormous mounts of counterfeit British money (pound bill) in order to destroy the British economy in the period of the World War 2.

英国の専門機関でさえ見抜くことができなかった、この偽札を製造したのが強制収容所に収容されていたユダヤ人の技術者。

The person who had completed the counterfeit money is a Judaic engineer in the labor camp.

彼は、贋札製造のチームリーダで、贋札が見破られれば、即、全員殺害されるという究極の環境下での、プロジェクトを遂行しなければなりませんでした。

He was a leader of the project team in ultimate dystopia. If he failed the project, all members of the team would be killed as quickly as a flash.

そのリーダが、仕事中に、何もしないでボーっとしているところを看守に見つかり、殴られるというシーンがあります。

There was a scene in the movie. He did nothing in a daze in his work place, and a correction officer got mad with him and gave him a hearty whack.

しかし、その看守の暴行を、SS親衛隊の少佐が止めます。

A major of Schutzstaffel stopped the officer with saying,

「高度な技術には、考える時間も仕事なのだ」

"As for advanced technique, thinking is also working"

何もしていないように見えて、優れた技術を実現するために、エンジニアは常に考えつづけています。

Engineers are thinking anywhere and anytime in order to realize the advanced technologies, even if they seem to be unthinking.

ですから、私がボーっとしているように見えても、または、パソコンで駄文を書いて遊んでいるように見えても、「見たまま」を、信じてはなりません。

If you think that I seem to be in a daze, write vain columns, you don't believe what I am looked.

また、自宅の庭で、バケツの中で手紙を放り込んで、燃やしている炎を、遠い目をして無表情に眺めていても、家族はその夫や父親を怖がってはいけません。

My family doesn't have a fear of their father, even if he burn some letters in a bucket in the garden impassivity and apathetically.
