It sounds like a simple thing, such as "check your weight every day", but this is terribly difficult.
To tell you the truth it is "fear"
For people who have already reached their target weight, are going towards their target weight, they may be able to feel easy or enjoy themselves.
However, for those who imagine their ideal weight in their head, "check their weight daily" is depression and it is painful (I had experienced that).
And the bigger the distance between reality and ideal, the greater the pain becomes. I can understand the feeling well.
The reason why you can not execute "Turn on time 3 seconds, cost 0 yen" such as "check your weight everyday" is
The negative cost of making one day depressed, that means it might cost several thousand yen (?)
will occur.

I will summarize the story so far.
(1) Recording diet has quantitative effects objectively.
(2) Recording diet makes negative cost that depresses you for one day
One hypothesis is derived from these two facts.
"Negative mentals that make one day depressed, make a successful diet"
Based on the hypothesis, the following is also derived.
(A)The diet is going well if you check the gap between ideal and real weight of yours.
In addition,
(B)The gap is bigger, the effect of diet also become bigger.

I think that the hypothesis will not be verified. because there are a lot of result around the world.
However, from the viewpoint of my policy
"Life with no pain, Death with no pain"
This is really painful hypothesis for me.
