Yesterday, I was an adviser for my first daughter about her course.
Her trouble is that she should face the dislike subject, which is necessary for her course.
Math
I know that person who dislike math really dislike math more than other subjects.
In my case, it is English. I like English, but English doesn't like me, as you know.
-----
I gave her two steps strategies.
Firstly you keep studying math hard until the deadline of the selecting. If math doesn't like you, you change the course.
It is normal and common advice I gave her.
-----
- Irreplaceable your own dream, singular dream. You should not dispose of the dream, because it is going to annoy you absolutely.
- The persons who have one's dream, can expand the effort for the dream, and realized the dream, has a common level dream.
- You may well think over the cost of both the dream and the process of the dream. How do you think to continue the dislike study and keep the study?
I always ask the person who say to us "dream makes us happy" to request a certificate, with saying
"Do you make you happy by dreaming come true?"
-----
So, come on, let us live in "ad hoc"
each other.
(Continued from yesterday)
In that air, the manual for the dedicated device and software that engineer use is awful unclear.
There is no attitude to have understood the contents, with malicious intentions.
Why does it happen?
The reason is that the developer of the product makes the manual.
They make the manuals to depend on the Pareto principle faithfully.
The explanation of 20% of functions that we never use, occupies 80% of the whole of manuals.
Besides, the developer cannot explain only the simplest usage, and she/he is going to list them without leaking all exception matters.
(For the developer, there is no help for trying to explain all of the function of the products.)
As a result, the manual not to make understand even simplest work is completed.
Why is it like that?
This is because there is little number of the users.
There is not tens of millions of user in the whole world. 。
For less than one hundred users in Japan, the cost of user's objections, become lower than making splendid manuals.
In addition, the manner of "you are an engineer, so you can do something by yourself" seems to be confirmed.
In conclusion, the manuals for the dedicated device and software that engineer use, becomes awful unclear.
(To be continued)
Yesterday, I talked to the "rude junior co-worker" by phone about the review of my new column.
As usual, he gave me many critics against the column, and he started to tell me about the "souvenir affair".
Junior:"Do you really understand that you have betrayed us tremendously by your turnabout."
Ebata:"Too swollen. It is just a snack box at most isn't it?"
Junior:"You know, we don't envy your life style and thought at all"
Ebata:"..."
Junior:"However, we always enjoy your behaviour based on your unreasonable theory and policy. Can you understand that we all are observers of watching your daily troublesome with pleasure.
Ebata:"I can't understand what you said , but do I have to understand it?"
Junior:"After all these years, if you want to change your policy, you can indemnify me for the damage of souvenir, in compensation for retrogressive snacks, can't you?""
_ -----
I can't understand what he wanted to say, however,
my "souvenir affair" seems to be one of the most important accidents in his life.
(Continuation from yesterday)
Whenever I find a sensor or monitoring camera that could be reactivated in a junk shop in Akihabara area.
"Do you want to work more? so why not come with me?"
I take them to my house, and I try to embed them to my (or my parent's) home security system. ( and some devices cannot be reactivated, they come to be pile of paving machine.
-----
I hear that there is a mental disease whose name is "Shopping dependence syndrome", and in my case,
I have mental diseases of "digital gadget collecting mania", "gambling addiction" to try to check "reactivate or not" and "habitual stalker" to insist on make them reactivate.
After all, I am afraid that this is a
"commendable mental diseases"
-----
All tangible things, including human being, are destined to be breakdown in future.
A long time ago, when I studied about gene, I was amazed that I knew that the breakdown(death) program is embedded in all creatures.
"We all lead to death" means "it's the same without doing anything." and "I will do what I want to do before". I think that both are worth, and both are meaningless.\
(To be continued)
I decided to meet with my wife at the DIY shop the other day.
Wife: "My arrival time may be delayed"
Ebata: "Well, I don't care it at all. I can waiting all day at DIY shop"
My wife also had a face of saying "I see."
-----
For me,
"Unidy Store at Disney Land "
or
"Akitsuki Electronics Trade Store at Disney Land "
Those stores will make me enjoy it, even if it is "Disney Land "
I think that a considerable number of father (of engineers) will have a motivation to go to Disneyland with their families.
The other day, suddenly I could not access the shared folder on the remote computer, and I could no longer work with remote working files.
After that, it turned out that it was caused by "Windows Update update program (KB 4480970) included a problem", however I became pale honestly.
I sometimes embed funny programs into my computer operating systems quite frequently. When a problem occurs in the computer, most of the reason will often return to "myself".
However, this time, it was an accident invited by Windows Update update program (KB 4480970), my innocence has been definite.
-----
However, distributing the update program that a problem was embedded, is that the company selling this OS, puts computer virus into their company products, and interferes with our business.
That means that there are lots of people in the same trouble as I am, in every part of the world.
I thought that
- By this time, breaking news on TV, the following telop has been shown "a problem has occurred that The shared folder can not be accessed after Windows Update (KB 4480970)"
- On the net, a lot of grudge messages from users continue to be written
- the stock price of Microsoft continues to crash, and the president hold a press conference for the resignation
However, my expectation has gone away.
(To be continued)
I heard that songs by a singer named Yonezu-san are "very good" from my family.
He can make good songs, I think that we can ask him to to make a theme song for the Tokyo Olympics 2020
However, my juniro daughter said,
"I think it's a bit different"
The following is what I heard from my second daughter and guessed the phrase of the lyrics of the song he will make.
-----
"What should I do after the Olympics?"
"The Olympics are determined by the color of the medals. Then what will be the color of life after that?"
"We knew a terrible recession would come after the Olympics."
"In a sports festival that is said to be meaningful to participate in, however, only three colors are of value to everyone."
"Is it possible to shine again" in the people life that my forties are shining the most? "
"After waiting for four years, the spotlight hits for only three weeks, and after that, everyone can not remember me. Is there someone who is not afraid of such a life?"
-----
Ebata:"Well, how is it like this?"
Daughter: "Generally correct"
Hmm, I see.
It may be a bit difficult to ask Yonezu-san for the theme song of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
I have acquired most of my knowledge about ongoing international conflicts from "Golgo 13".
Of course, "Golgo 13" is a fictional story, so I cannot believe them all in their entirety.
From the point of view of an expert on international affairs, some of the ins and outs of the international arena as depicted in "Golgo 13" are frothing at the mouth.
In addition, I personally do not have the information, connections, or intelligence to correctly judge the international situation.
-----
However, when it comes to technical fields, especially computers, networks, and other IT fields, as an engineer who has actually been involved in these fields, I can make judgments.
There are a number of inaccurate descriptions of the interpretation of science and technology in the "Golgo 13" story.
But I am not going to be blindsided by them.
We, the inhabitants of the world of science and technology, are used to this kind of thing.
Rather, on the contrary, I can say that I am getting an opportunity to know, 'Oh, this is how the world sees this technology.
-----
Golgo 13 is basically a story that divides the good guys, the bad guys, and the stupid guys, and portrays the three of them in an opposing structure.
Here, "good", "bad", and "stupid" are different from the socially accepted "righteous", "evil", and "ignorant".
In the story, it is depicted in the style of "the benevolent", "the malevolent", and "the foolish".
The "good guys" are depicted with a "good face," the "bad guys" with a "bad face," and the "stupid guys" with a "stupid face," so I can easily judge them.
-----
So, the other day, I was skimming through the new issue of "Golgo 13" at a convenience store, and I felt something strange.
"The current sitting President of the United States is portrayed as a 'stupid guy'"
(To be continued)
We had done the same thing with my father, and now I am doing the relay of the removal of my mother's name from the register with her death.
A journey through the life (and place) of a mother -- The bureaucratic cruise.
-----
I: "What am I doing this for?"
Sister: "It's to find our brothers and sisters we don't know."
In other words, if my father or mother has an "illegitimate child," that child will also have the right to be granted property.
If we don't "legally establish" that we don't have such a child, we won't be able to receive even the smallest amount of money in my mother's bank account!
Honestly -- it's a hassle, I think.
There are times when I think, 'I don't need that money.
However, if left unchecked, the remainder of the money will be collected by the treasury -- in other words, taken by the government.
It's perfectly fine if I don't get it, but it is absolutely unacceptable for the "state" to get it.
-----
In my case, just by thinking about it, driving all over Japan and going through the process of applying for a copy of the registry in a local area doesn't seem so "painful" to me.
I like Mizuki Setoguchi's books, especially "Howl of a Local Girl".
The following lines from the extra edition listed in Volume 9 struck a chord.
======
"I learned about the reality of poverty overseas"
"You didn't get that in Japan? I'll put my thumb in your eyeball instead of hitting the 'good' button"
======
At least, I think my teenager 'couldn't complain about having his thumb in his eyeball.
hen, "around this time", I learned of the reality (from data and documents), was stunned, and became an adult who "turned away" from the serious problem.
I hope that my children will be educated -- (by great other than myself) so that they will not become adults like me and not mass produce adults like me.
----
And I also like the following lines.
======
"Ummm... isn't life more 3D, not just left to right or up and down?"
======
Yeah, I agree that there are more dimensions to life than just 3D.
However, I feel that I have an extremely low number of dimensions -- I just have a "sitting/not sitting in front of a computer" axis.
-----
Incidentally, the currently accepted theory in physics (superstring theory) says that the universe has at least 11 dimensions.
Someday I would like to study it properly and use it as fodder for a column.
"If the prime minister tries to show strange leadership, it will cause a lot of trouble for those involved in the rescue efforts and the people affected by the disaster."
The then Prime Minister beautifully proved this during the Great East Japan Earthquake.
(Search for "calm the PM" to find the article)
----
The head of the organization is,
(1) No matter how frustrating it may be, they must not come out to the front lines but stay in the rear to keep track of the entire disaster.
and,
(2) They must be patient and let the field decide.
The prime minister was a great role model at the time, showing us the importance of such an attitude.
----
In that sense, I appreciate the Prime Minister's stance on this disaster.
I guess it depends on whether you see this as a 'lack of leadership' or not.
However, as a lower-level manager who has continued to work in the field, I can say that bosses who offer "last-minute interruptions" are a real nuisance.
Supervisors have to check on their duties. However, I don't want them to join in the project's final phase, much less make "suggestions."

A "senior who doesn't talk is well worth it."
