On the opposite side, I read "black swan" that are popular among other books of statistic.
Thought I know well that this book review is cowardice,
"That is disgusting that the author always have his nose in the air."
It is difficult to understand the subject matter because the book is not written logically.
I feel pain that this book describes hypothesis, fact, impression and conclusion
Though the author might make the book the above way on purpose, unfortunately I cannot accept it.
-----
"Yabai prediction"
"Yabai statistic"
"The signal and the noise ".
"The success equation"
The above books are wonderful and I complete reading soon. So I am afraid that "Black swan" brings me bad luck.
Yesterday, I made a blunder that I had forgotten sending the questionnaire for the person who had applied to it. I started reexamination in a hurry at the same of sending the email of the apology.
I intended to check it before the sending severely, so I did a shock plenty.
If you has not got the questionnaire, I am very sorry but I hope you will send me a mail again (with your anger).
-----
Though this was my mistake perfectly, I was given a mail from my column's reader that "Ebata's mail is in a folder of the unwanted e-mail.
I was very impressed to hear the story.
"Well, the mail filter of the provider works well"
No, No, That isn't it.
----
The times when an E-mail was still transferred via the server of the university, as a electric file, there was a story of
"30% of all emails had been lost"
However, it was good as such.
Because at the time, the E-mail were such things.
Not "read through" but "unread through." And the value of the E-mail is in it.
"What? such an email does not arrive."
We were allowed to say the above barefacedly in the period.
(To be continued)
Today, new my column is released, so I take a day off.
A new series is coming.
"Over the AI ---- beyond a reach of our imagination"
"Can a senior research engineer dream a new intelligence over the AI? "
-----
"I have no intention to put a stingy to the current "artificial intelligence boom".
The senior researcher said that,
has existed.
(Continuation from yesterday)
If our systems are hijacked by a outside cyber attack, our business is going to stop absolutely. It is awful if I think about the total cost of missing materials and program.
In the worst case, a customer's information will leaked out. We should care of our customer's damage, more than our pride. Of course, the customer will never get a job to us again.
And once the data is leaked out on the net, we can not either collect or erase it.
Now all the huge systems are virtualized, and we can carry it in a USB memory completely.
Even the systems which are separated from the Internet completely are invaded, destroyed. and whose information is pulled out.
-----
Moreover, the most fearful object is a person who do not feel such "fear" for IT engineers.
Sometimes the person is a member of family.
"Losing USB memory" is a phrase that makes me go go pale, however,
it is absolutely difficult to make this family understand this horror, like,
"Make unskilled indigenous people understand the concept of money"
(Continuation from yesterday)
Well, from the other person's point of view, I think that my behavior was bad.
After all, middle-aged man wearing business casual clothes was jumping around the shrine with joy.
However, I enjoyed it all the time.
At least, I was excited. Of course, "Disneyland" was out of my scope.
-----
I think why I can enjoy "Izumo Taisha" is that I have been influenced by Japanese excellent subculture.
The contents to be derived from Japanese gods, for example, "Yakumo-Tatsu"(by Itsuki Natumi-sensei), "Inari Konkon Koi Iroha"(by Yoshida morohe-sensei), "hozukino-reitetsu)(by Eguchi Natsumi-sensei) help me for making "realize God" in my head.
This time, Mogura-san's book organized these many Japanese gods well, and finally,
"Izumo Taisha's amusement park formation"
has been finished in my mind.
-----
I deeply realize that "authors of manga and animation are studying enormous amounts of things."
And, the 1% of its huge knowledge is not used for stories of comics and animation,
the 99% of the knowledge supports the concept of the work
I know it well.
So, from the Kojiki and Nihon Shoki (original) to manga and animation, any content is important for me.
-----
And, if I can systematically organize (systematize) those contents organically,
I believe that "I always can entertain myself".
(Continuation from yesterday)
I think that it is a rough story that everything is going well if you open your information.
I also think the case of "opening goes ill with you" is usual.
For example, the open of marriage activities and job job hunting are unprofitable strategies.
Their pains are too much, and it is the leaking of private information for your life.
Of course, those information are useful for others, but we don't have to care of it.
The purpose of our "opening" is to make us happier, even if we make someone's life a misery.
-----
Thinking of it, it is natural that on book rack at convenience stores, only the books whose title are
"How to make you happy"
or
"How to join the winner team"
have been left.
Failure stories will not be opened without the set with success stories.
That means, our sequential failures are affirmed when our successes are just decided.
Finally this "success story including failure process" will be realized with being unpleasant for me.
(To be continued)
Ebata: "In the old days, there was an event where two lovers would say, 'Ahhhh' and carry the food to each other's mouths with their own chopsticks...
Granddad: "Mamma, Grandpa is talking a lot of horseshit with no cancens literacy!
There may be a future where romantic comedy creations will be distinguished by their content -- with the names "pre-2020" and "post-2020" -- in the future.
-----
Or rather, I think even the "grandchildren" or even the "marriage" of the daughters before that is a quantum state -- "0 cat", "1 cat".
Still, I think I'm in a much more respectable position being in a "Quantum superposition" state at the moment, than I was at the time,
-----
Maybe the problems will be "coherence time" of my daughter, my wife and me.
In the opening ceremony of this year's Tokyo Olympics, I am a great admirer of the "moving pictogram performance".
I usually use free pictograms in my columns, presentation materials, and papers.
I even think that pictograms are a "universal language that does not require learning".
The "moving pictogram" introduced at this opening ceremony is an upgrade from "universal language that can be understood" to "universal language that speaks to us".
As a young man who used to be a theatrical performer (albeit for a short period of time), I honestly felt that the conception, realization method, order, and time allocation of the "moving pictogram performance" was "amazing.
And I want to give unreserved praise to the performers, who have probably spent an enormous amount of time practicing.
-----
However, in our house, that performance is not popular.
They said, "It's not a good performance for the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
-----
I've always felt that the opening ceremonies of the Olympics since around 2000 have been overly flamboyant, exaggerated, and full of unexpected performances, like
"a mass game that some country north of the peninsula is using as a tourism resource"
I have always felt "vaguely uncomfortable" with what has become a pompous, nationalistic ceremony.
- A flesh-and-blood human flying with a jet device attached to his back.
- The queen's helicopter dive.
- Fireworks display around the stadium.
Frankly, I've been fed up with them.
-----
Well, I suppose there was the constraint that it was the Olympics in the midst of the Corona disaster, but for me
I thought that it was a relatively calm opening ceremony (performance) that didn't try to be overly popular.
-----
In the midst of all this, the IOC President's "talk" was the worst of the worst -- or rather, it seriously "worried" me.
The way he talked about the same things over and over again reminded me of my father, who was in the early stages of cognitive impairment.
"Might it be the first Olympics in history where the IOC president himself would ruin the opening ceremony ?"
And the fact that there is no one in that hall who can stop the IOC president from talking is the same as the "universal old person problem" of "no one can stop the school principal from talking at all.
-----
"Get a review from someone else and practice a few times before you go on stage, you idiot," I said.
I believe I am qualified to say so, as I have always finished my presentations within the designated time, with practicing more than 10 times before going to them, even for a few conferences.
Today, new my column is released, so I take a day off.
"A New Theory of Action for Engineers Who Are Not Loved by Money(5)"
A "golden combination" found by a novice investor.
-----
The afterword to this column is titled "Ebata teachs you how to repel sale" (composed by Ms.M the editor).
My junior questioned "whty did you bring this topic up?". I honestly cannot explain the reason either.
It is likely "my pen has slipped" by what I usualy tought.
------
I am wondering why people cannot hand up against sales caller with saying "I am not interested in" immidately.
If you are asked "May I have a moment now", you can say "I am busy to death", and you will most likely not get a second call.
In case of door-to-door sales, you just say "if it is a sale, I reject it" and I turn off the button without waiting for the response.
However, as far as I see, the reseachers around me, seem to be trying to urge that they are not intested in the sales.
I don't understand that why my collegues adapt for sales callers so gentle.
Let me think the reason, I resulted in "everyone is well-mannered".
------
Maybe it is because they are afraid to get back with nonsense resentment.
If you terminate the conversation unilaterally with a "two-second one-phrase" as I did, the sale person will not need to waste their time.
I think it will be win-win relationship for both paries and will not leave any troublesome resentment.
-----
Especially to the sales person who dares to challenge a house with several such posters around the house,
I am impressed , thinking "Nice Guts"
Recently, it has become common practice to outsource patent applications to outside patent firms.
In such a situation, I have never outsourced a patent application
Because 'the cost of explaining my invention to others does not pay off.'
No, maybe it will pay off.
Be sure to describe it accurately.
'It's because explaining my invention to others is too much trouble.'
For example, even when outsourcing, conditions such as "only drawings of the application" are prepared, but "if the drawings are prepared, the patent application is as good as complete" -- at least, that's what I think.
-----
It occurred to me,
"What would happen if I explained my invention to ChatGPT instead of explaining it to others?"
So I did a little experiment.
-----
Ebata: "Write a patent application for 'an invention for tracking a suspect using multiple fixed cameras'" (*)
(*) Incidentally, there is already a mountain of publicly known examples and products for this invention, so a patent cannot be granted.
ChatGPT's answer (English translation is omitted):.
I was impressed, saying, 'Hmmm, I didn't know it could go this far.'
Of course, there was no search of publicly known examples, and even that is not in the format of a patent application (e.g., no claims), and the content is too shabby, to begin with.
However, if my leader shouts
"Ebata! I don't care if it's a "deemed withdrawal" that doesn't request a review, write one. I have a quota! My quota! "
It would be useful for "patent application writing as a quota, with no intention of getting a patent" to help the leader who cries, "I'm not going to get a patent.
Incidentally, the company policy I work for is "Writing patent applications is the soul of engineers." If any leader were to make such a statement, they would be purged instantly (true).
Hmm? So we are outsourcing our "soul" now? Let's not talk about this for the sake of my peaceful life as an engineer.
-----
Anyway, I felt a relief to know that, at least 'for the time being, there seems to be no danger of inventive work being lost to generative AI.
It is none of my business what happens to others' invention-creation and making patent applications after I retire.
