昨日、実家に帰省していたという話をしました。

In the last diary, I wrote that I went to country home yesterday.

実家への帰省の目的は、行政上の手続、法律処理、看病、家事、実家のメンテナンスと、まあ、はっきりいって ―― 楽しいものではありません。

The purposes of the homecoming are, administrative procedures, application laws, nursing, housekeeping, and maintenances.

To tell you the truth, these are not enjoyable.

しかし、最近、私は一つの楽しみをもって帰省するようになりました。

But nowadays, I know how to have a grand day during the homecoming.

実家の最寄りの駅の飲み屋です。

That is a Japanese style pub.

鉄道のガード下の民家を改造して作られた、お世辞にもキレイとは言えない飲み屋なの

ですが ―― これがイイのです。

The pub has been rebuilt from the private house and located under a train bridge. However it might be hard to say "neat and comfortable" in compliment, that is good.

まず、客がいい。

Firstly, the guests are good.

うだつの上りそうもない中年男達(そういえば、女性が入っているところを見たことがないな)が、上司や部下の悪口に花を咲かせている様は、

They are always trying to find faults with their bosses and subordinates, and warming up. They will make me share,

―― うん、俺達、負け犬だよな

"Yes. We are absolutely losers of life"

という、気持ちを共有させてくれます。

そして、自宅では、絶対に嫁さんが料理してくれることのない料理達が、安価で食せるところがイイのです。

Secondly, the foods are good.

どてやき、とんたん(豚舌)、ガッツ(胃)、レバー、ホルモン(内臓)

Organ stew, pig tongue, gut, lever, and organ meat

これをビールで流し込む瞬間が、もう、なんというか、

When I eat them with drinking beer,

―― 至福

It is a kind of ecstasy,

さらに、私は、この騒がしい飲み屋で、一人本を読むのが、もう最高に幸せなのです(煙草がけむいのは諦めなければなりません)。

Finally, I am very happy to read a book alone in this noisy pub.

今回は、帚木蓬生さんの「聖灰の暗号」を読んでいました。

In this time, I read "Secret code of blessed ash" whose author is koboreMr. Housei Hahahigi.

そういえば学生の頃、『なんで、カソリックは、三位一体なんぞという、理解しにくい教義を取り入れたんだろう？』などと思っていたなー、などと思い出していました。

I remember that, I think that why the Catholic has adopted the difficult creed of "Three in One” when I was college students.

という訳で、この飲み屋のおかげで、私は元気に帰省できるような気がしてきました。

Anyway, thanks to this pub, I suppose that I go back to country house vigorously.

「負け犬」「ホルモン」「三位一体」。

"Loser", “Organ meat", and "Three in One"

この訳の分からんシュチュエーション。

Who could understand this mess situation?

これを「幸せ」と言うのです。

But it is called "happiness".
